Community Education 2022

MARCH 2, 6:30-8:30PM AT HART MIDDLE SCHOOL & LIVESTREAMED VIA ZOOM

The Pleasanton PTA Council is pleased to present a Community Education Event:

Let's Crack Open the Grading Conversation

Join us to learn how grading practices that are accurate, bias-resistant, and motivational will improve learning, minimize grade inflation, reduce failure rates, and become a lever for creating stronger teacher-student relationships and more caring classrooms.

Author Joe Feldman is our keynote speaker. He will start promptly at 6:30 and the evening will include a brief discussion and Q&A with PUSD students, parents and teachers. If you would like to submit a question ahead of time, please scroll down for the link to our Q&A Form.

Register to attend in person or use the Zoom link to watch the event livestreamed: https://pleasantonusd.zoom.us/j/84781810984

For information or questions, email Sharon: communityconcerns@pleasantonpta.org

If you want to get more in depth on the topic, you can purchase the book at Towne Center Books or pick up a copy at the Pleasanton Library.

"Joe Feldman peels back the curtain and shows the many flaws of our traditional grading system. His arguments are convincing–and the alternatives he proposes are both practical and powerful. Reading this book will make you re-think the way you assess students and will inspire you to enact a system that encourages revision and redemption instead of compliance and corruption."
